Materials Solutions installs UPS for EOS M270s2nd Feb 2012Materials Solutions has installed a UPS system to power its 6 additive layer manufacturing (ALM) bays. This is to ensure that in the rare event of power cuts, power is retained on the EOS M270 machines and building of customers' parts continues without interuption. CEO Carl Brancher commented; "the ALM process is 24/7 lights-out and we build large parts that may take all week. Interupting the build process- for whatever reason- can cause problems, particularly with certain materials. Our customers expect rapid delivery of perfect parts and we have therefore added a UPS to ensure that we meet these delivery requirements. Power cuts don't happen very often, but they do happen and we did experience severall back in 2010." << Back |
