The key challenge facing R&D led manufacturers today is how to meet the new requirements of environmental legislation and changing consumer preferences for ‘green’ products.

To reduce consumption of resources (materials and energy) new processes and materials are required for the development and manufacture of products. The ability to meet this challenge quickly is necessary for business survival.

Reducing weight and waste, reuse and recycling and using less energy to make and use are all part of the solution that government legislation and consumers now require. Materials Solutions enables rapid, low cost access to new technologies and expert technologists to assist in meeting these challenges.

Materials Solutions operates an applications development centre part funded by both Advantage West Midlands and the MNT initiative managed by the Technology Strategy Board for BERR.
