Materials Solutions specialises in metal powder bed Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM) using a fibre laser equipped EOS M270 to produce functional parts in your choice of alloy including stainless steels such as 17-4, 15-5 and 316L, CoCr and Ni alloys such as Inco 625, 718, Hast X and C263. We take your CAD files, convert and optimise them for processing and supply parts to your specification.
We offer unrivalled experience supplying aerothermal test parts (hot and cold) as well as general rapid prototyping and manufacture. Materials Solutions has four EOS M270 machines and was the first UK M270 installation. These machines are supported by the best equiped QA and analytical service with our own SEM, optical microscopes, CMM etc.
The M270 features a high power fibre laser with switchable spot size, 20 micron build steps, sealed build compartment with inert gas purge and latest generation software. The fibre laser 'writes' 20 micron slices of the manipulated CAD file into a powder bed with an inert environment. The laser energy melts the powder producing 100% dense parts with excellent metallurgical properties similar to forged.
