Materials Solutions at Farnborough Air Show

Materials Solutions attended Farnborough Air Show 14th ~ 20th July 2008.

At the EOS stand Materials Solutions was showing a 250mm dia. representative combustion part demonstrating our capabilities in combining both small features such as large numbers of 0.5mm holes, threaded holes and accurate building of a large thin walled structure.

The advantages we offer are considerable time savings over castings (days not months) and all the required holes are built in-situ and are not geometry dependent (unlike castings requiring laser drilling- where access permits).

We can supply complete parts thermally barrier coated (if required) and QA'd to your standards using an approved testing house.

This geometry was manufactured on an EOS M270 powder bed laser 'sintering' (true melting) system (a.k.a. DMLS or DLD)  in EOS stainless steels and CoCr as well as Hastelloy X (Hast X).
